Planning the World Values Survey wave 7 in Belarus

The secretariat of the World Values Survey Association had a meeting with the WVS national team in Belarus with regard to planning and implementation of WVS wave 7 in this country.

The secretariat of the World Values Survey Association had a meeting with the WVS national team in Belarus with regard to planning and implementation of WVS wave 7 in this country. The meeting took place at the Department of Sociology of Belarusian State University. The values study in Belarus has been implemented in the last 5 waves (starting from wave 2 and till wave 6 inclusive): in 1990, 1996, 2000, 2008 and 2011. After the meeting Professor Haerpfer gave a public lecture on “World values survey as a tool to measure social development in cross-national perspective” for the students of Sociology and Journalistic at the University.

A roundtable on “Austria, Belarus and the EU” took place on May, 6 at the Faculty of International Relations of Belarus State University (BSU). The roundtable was organized with the support of Austrian-Belarussian Friendship Society. Chair of Roundtable was Professor Viktor Schadurski, the Dean of the Faculty of International Relations at BSU. Speakers were Professor Peter Bachmeier (OSI), Professor Dieter Segert (Head of Department of Political Science), and Professor Christian Haerpfer, President of the World Values Survey Association and Research Professor at the University of Vienna in Austria.
