WVSA congratulates Chair of the Scientific Advisory Committee Dr Darwish Al-Emadi with the new nomination!

The Office of the President of Qatar University has announced the appointment of Dr Darwish al Emadi as head of strategy and development at the rank of vice-president.

Dr Emadi previously held the post of director of QU Social and Economic Survey Research Institute and recently, acting vice-president of Research.

He is a 1979 graduate of QU Department of English and Modern European Languages, and in 1986, obtained his doctorate in Sociolinguistics from the University of Edinburgh.

Dr Emadi has held several senior administrative posts at QU, including dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences from 1995 to 2000 and Dean of the Graduate School from 2001 to 2003.

Between 2003 and 2004, he was director of the Education Institute at the Supreme Education Council (SEC).

Since March, 2013 Dr Emadi is the Chair of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the WVSA.
