WVSA coordination team at the WVS7 survey training in Uzbekistan
Last week WVSA President Christian Haerpfer and Head of WVSA Secretariat Kseniya Kizilova gave public lectures at the Institute for Research of the Youth Problems and Training Prospective Personnel at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Tashkent.
Lectures entitled "The World Values Survey 1981-2019: Four-decades Study on the Dynamics of Global Cultural Change" and "The World Values Survey Round 7 (2017-2019): Overview, Methodology, Findings" introduced the WVS research program to the members of the academic community, students and lecturers of HEIs from Tashkent and other Uzbekistan cities as well as of the Academy of Public Administration. Detailed overview of the WVSA's historical path, methodological requirements and possibilities of data usage in analysis have been provided. WVSA delegation spoke of the findings obtained via the previous rounds of the WVS research programs conducted in Uzbekistan (2011), Kazakhstan (2011 & 2018) and Kyrgyzstan (2004 & 2011).

The currently ongoing WVS7 survey round has already been completed in Kazakhstan in 2018. The new survey is set to commence in Fall 2019 in Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and -for the first time- in Tajikistan. All new data will be available in free access at the WVSA web-site in July 2020.
A Memorandum of Understanding signed between the WVSA and the Institute for Research of the Youth Problems and Training Prospective Personnel at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Summer 2019 will act as the cooperation framework for the data collection within the WVS-7 (2017-2020) survey round as well as other joint activities.
